2011 Star Island Digital Photo Workshop
July 30th - August 6th
Spend a week on beautiful
Star Island
with longtime Isles of Shoals photographer Peter E. Randall
who instructs this weeklong workshop. This is a unique opportunity to enhance your photographic skills,
to learn how to get the most out of your digital camera, to enhance your portfolio of images, and to
become a better photographer. This is a small conference so it offers participants plenty of opportunity
for personal attention.
During the week each participant will work on daily assignments as well as on a weeklong project.
We will critique images daily and discuss how to improve each photograph so that it fully represents
the photographer’s vision. We will use a quality inkjet printer so that by the end of the week we can
have our own exhibit of images.
Each participant should be familiar with his or her camera and should have some experience with
photography. To get the best benefit from the workshop plan to have a laptop computer, and also
bring a card reader, extra SH or Compact Flash cards, depending on what your camera uses, a tripod,
and other equipment you would normally use. You should also bring a small flash drive and a few blank
CDs or DVDs so that you can backup your work. You will also need a software program to edit your images.
Inexpensive programs include Photoshop Elements and Apple Aperture, which is for Mac computers and can be
downloaded from the Apple store. While this is not a workshop to learn these software programs, we can
help you get started.
For this seven-day conference, we will leave Portsmouth at 2:25 PM on Saturday, July 30 and return
on the following Saturday, arriving in Portsmouth at 9:45 AM.
