Dennis Evans
ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER: Dennis F. Evans began work as an artistic photographer in 1989, the year he moved from Vermont to the resort town of Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, on Lake Winnipesaukee. He was inspired by the beautiful mountain ranges that surround Lake Winnipesaukee, which also provide numerous elevated views of the lake itself, and started out as a traditional-style landscape photographer. Four years later Dennis built his own chemical darkroom and began photographing and printing in black & white. Since then he has traveled extensively in New Hampshire, occasionally venturing into other states, and uses a variety of photographic techniques and styles by which to share the beauty he sees. Currently, Dennis is developing a style of color photography he refers to as "staring at life," wherein some of the photographs have no point of sharp focus. His work is on permanent display in the art gallery of the New England Craftsmen store located on Main Street in Wolfeboro.
